Best Fixed Blade Knife Under $50 Guide


Over the last few years we have been testing and trying all sorts of knifes, fixed blade, folding knife, survival knife, tactical knife, compact knifes, pocket knifes, hunting knifes and more. And with the assistance of my fellow knife lovers we have built a collections of knife reviews and guides,

This guide is all about the best fixed blade knifes under $50, while this is no complete list this is a guide of our preferred fixed blade knifes, each with their own strengths and weakness and preferred environments for use. Although the one this they all have in common is that they are the most incredible value on the market, with most of the knifes well below the $50 maximum value.





Survivor Outdoor HK-1036S Fixed Blade Knife 10.5-Inch Overall

As with all the knifes in our guide this is a great knife and sharpens like a razor. Very light weight, fits in the hand well and made to really last through all types of use, knock and hit.

This knife is a good combo between a large bowie-type blade, and a entry level fixed blade knife. It's small enough to wear each day and not create a problem but big enough to use for a variety of jobs at any time of the day or in any location. The knife is sold with a nylon sheath that is very sturdy and the knife is kept in place with snap clasp.

MTECH USA MT-086 Fixed Blade Knife 12.25 Overall

This fixed blade knife has a stainless steel blade that is extremely sharp. Its rugged handle is designed for extra grip and fits perfectly in your hand. Complete with protective carrying case.

We bought this knife to compare with the trusty Buck 119. For less than half the price of the Buck knife. Well, it compared vary well in comparison, whilst the Buck 119 is still believed to be the slightly better knife, in some situation you would struggle to justify the difference in price.

Nice quality knife. Has a nice solid balanced feel. Good grip & sharp out of the box. Nice sheath as well. Worth the money.

Overall the fixed blade knife is very sturdy and the rubberized grip is comfortable and very well balances. It has a glass break knob on the pommel that, based on the weight of the knife, this works very well, encase you ever find yourself in the situation to use the glass breaker.. While it has some weight it is well suited for anything reasonable you need to do with a knife.

Smith & Wesson CKSUR1 Bullseye Search and Rescue Fixed Blade Knife

The handle of the knife is made of a durable, weather-proof, rubberized material that is comfortable and easy to grip in any conditions. and the heavy-duty nylon sheath has synthetic liner, metal reinforcements and lashing slots and includes D ring, lashing slots.

The blade is right around 1/8 of an inch thick nearest to the guard, making it very rigid and solid knife when you are using it. This also contributes to giving the blade a sufficient amount of mass for chopping down saplings or chopping up kindling, if needed. While the back top end of the blade is semi sharp which marks it perfect for those jobs where you need to scrap something away, but dont want to dull you knife sharp blade.

Elk Ridge Er-052 Fixed Blade Knife 9.5-Inch Overall



This is a classic design for a knife and we have all grown up owning one like this or seeing our day or uncle with one just like it. This Elk Ridge fixed blade knife is of good size, in that its a good functional size to use and a good functions size to carry on your person.

The quality is great, 440 Stainless with full tang, and a very sharp edge out of the box, with an expected leather sheath with low level handle snap. Although the sheath doesn't come with a inner slice guard, so with regular ruff use it will get damaged.

In summary, the price and the quality make this an incredible knife

Survivor HK-1035 Outdoor Fixed Blade Knife 10-Inch AND 7-Inch OVERAL


If you enjoy hiking, camping or the outdoors this amazing fixed blade knife set is what you need to consider. The resilient stainless steel construction of these survival knives, large and small, are complimented by their sharp double edged blades which feature a resilient black coated finish.

The handles feature a braided rope wrap with a handy tether. In addition to these two great knives a magnesium alloy fire starter is also included so you can quickly and easily build a fire, which can all be carried in the velcro strap case.

MTECH USA MT-632CB Tactical Fixed Blade Knife 6-Inch Overall


The MT-623CB fixed blade knife from MTECH is an excellent compact knife that can really go anywhere and wont let you down in an unexpected situation. Ideal for an urban survival environment it can completely concealed, which is often difficult when you are carrying a fixed blade knife.

In all seriousness the knife is not designed to be something that you take on a 4 day hike or hunt, this is an urban emergency fixed blade knife

Gerber 31-001683 Bear Grylls Paracord Fixed Blade Knife with Slim Sheath


The Bear Grylls Paracord Fixed Blade knife is a compact and sturdy full tang knife, designed to be a smaller, bare-bones fixed blade survival knife. The paracord wrapped handle is removable and customizable with 60 feet of paracord. It includes a slim Kydex-like sheath with removable belt loop.

Featuring an extremely thin side profile, the Bear Grylls paracord fixed-blade knife is notable for its fine-edge steel blade that can be used for precision cutting and slicing. A 45-inch nylon paracord is one of the highest quality cord we have seen on a knife of this low cost and for a change we don't recommend that the cord be replaced.
