MTECH USA MT-424 Series Tactical Folding Knife 4.75-Inch Closed Review

The MTECH knife range has become a name that is well know for good quality budget knifes and the MT 424 folding knife is no different. With a total open length of 7.8", a blade of 3.25" and a weight of 4 ounces this is an excellent urban survival knife.

The knife comes well prepared and ready to use straight from the box with a good solid and sharp edge, due to the compact size and weight this is an ideal knife to carry on you each day or keep in your car, boat, backpack or somewhere convenient in your house. The features of this knife include a seat belt cutter (as with all seat belt cutters these are designed to cut the thin but strong material that seatbelts are made from, don't test on rope of other materials as it will quickly dull the blade), glass breaker, aluminum handle with textured grip and belt clip.

If you are planning to give this knife a high amount of usage we recommend a few little actions be taken first to prolong the life and function of the knife. Firstly sharpen the blade, while the blade is ready to use out of the box high use knifes should be sharpened to a razor blade this will prolong the total life of the blade. Second back off all the screws and retighten with a little bit of loc-title. You might be thinking that a knife shouldn't need any work when it arrives but if you want to rely on it, you need to invest a little bit of time in it, or buy a $100 knife.
